Peter Andre: The age gap between me and Emily is irrelevant

'Irrelevant' ... Peter Andre is 16 years older than new girlfriend Emily MacDonagh
PETER Andre has hit out at criticism over the 16-year age gap between him and new love Emily MacDonagh.
The Aussie singer said: "A lot has been made of the age gap between us but she turns 23 this week and we don't even think about the age difference - it's irrelevant.
"I'm really, really happy and although it's very early days with Ems and we're just seeing how it goes, she's a beautiful girl and I'm loving spending time with her."
The star, 39, was spotted out with the pretty brunette medical student again at the end of last week — just a fortnight after they were first pictured stepping out together.
They were snapped as they stopped to fill up their car with petrol and get coffee in south-west London on Thursday.
Looking loved-up they beamed at each other as Emily appeared to pass Pete his wallet on the way into the petrol station.
Emily showed off her natural beauty dressed down in a jumper and jeans, and with her long brown hair flowing down her shoulders.

While Pete — who met Emily through her surgeon dad Ruaraidh who performed an op on the star to remove kidney stones two years ago — also opted for a casual look wearing jeans, a T-shirt and red cap.
Last week the new couple were photographed on their way to see Ghost: The Musical at London's Piccadilly Theatre.
Pete said of the date in his new! magazine column: "I took Emily, or Ems as I call her to see Ghost: The Musical last week, and she absolutely loved it.
"It's one of the best shows I've ever seen and I really wanted her to see it. She cried twice, bless her. It's very emotional.

"Afterwards, we went out for a meal at Thai Square in London's Trafalgar square and it was one of the best nights out I've had in a long time."
He added: "She's so clever and a real museum fan so, before we went to the theatre, we spent the day at the Science Museum.
"It was amazing. I haven't been to a museum in about 15 years but it was incredible and I want to go back soon as there's so much to see."
Peter, who has two children with ex-wife Katie Price, also spoke about taking his brother Andrew, who is currently battling kidney cancer, to the theatre with them last week.

He said: "Andrew and his wife Magda came to the theatre with Ems and me last week, so it was a bit of a double date.
"Andrew said it was the most fun he's had since his cancer diagnosis and it was great to get him out of the house and doing something fun.
"I think he looks great at the moment but it's all still very up and down.
"Hopefully he won't have to have much more chemo as that's what really takes it out of him."
